Yega is an accomplished academic and legal practitioner who runs his own practice and was a former judicial member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal. He has successfully designed Mental Health Law electives for the Australian Catholic University, University of Technology Sydney, Western Sydney University, University of New England and Charles Darwin University. In addition to teaching at ACU, and private institutions like UBSS and NAPS, he is also an oral assessor in Professional Legal subjects for the College of Law. He is admitted as a solicitor in NSW and a Barrister in London UK at the Honourable Society of Lincolns Inn. Yega is also the author of Mental Health Law: A Practical Guide, Lexis Nexis, 2023.
