Applications for this course open in August and close in December.
You must submit your application and all supporting documentation before the closing date.
All applicants must submit a curriculum vitae & contact details for a professional referee, regardless of whether you have any relevant industry experience.
There will be an intensive held on each campus in February for the unit EXSC634 'Clinical Assessment and Exercise for Musculoskeletal Conditions of the Lower Limb'.
The following information is to assist you in submitting your application.
Is your bachelor degree accredited by Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA)?
Visit the ESSA website to review Courses with Full or Provisional Accreditation Status. ACU will use the same list to check if your bachelor has accreditation status.
Your bachelor degree is ESSA accredited
If your bachelor degree is accredited, then you will be assessed for admission using the following criteria:
- a grade point average (GPA) of at least 4.6 on the ACU 7 point scale;
OR
- evidence of substantial relevant industry experience for at least one year post-Bachelor graduation;
OR
- have completed ACU's Graduate Certificate in Exercise Rehabilitation for Sports Injuries with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 4.6 on the ACU 7 point scale.
You only need to meet ONE of the above points, not all. If you completed ACU's Graduate Certificate in Exercise Rehabilitation for Sports Injuries you will need to add this as a post-secondary qualification in your application. We can obtain your transcript for this course internally.
Your bachelor degree is NOT accredited by ESSA
If your bachelor degree is not accredited by ESSA, then you will need to apply to ESSA for a Graduate Assessment for Postgraduate Study.
The Graduate Assessment for postgraduate study is an Exercise Science Accreditation (AES) which recognises that your bachelor degree satisfies the ESSA Exercise Standards including 140 hours of practical experience. This is an external assessment undertaken by ESSA and you will need to supply evidence to ACU, in the form of a letter from ESSA confirming your Graduate Assessment outcome, as part of your application. If you have applied for Graduate Assessment but not yet received an outcome, you should supply your ESSA confirmation of application email as a part of your application to ACU.
Once you have attained ESSA Graduate Assessment, you will be assessed for admission using the following criteria:
- a grade point average (GPA) of at least 4.6 on the ACU 7 point scale;
OR
- evidence of substantial relevant industry experience for at least one year post-Bachelor graduation;
OR
- have completed ACU's Graduate Certificate in Exercise Rehabilitation for Sports Injuries with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 4.6 on the ACU 7 point scale.
You only need to meet ONE of the above points, not all. If you completed ACU's Graduate Certificate in Exercise Rehabilitation for Sports Injuries you will need to add this as a post-secondary qualification in your application. We can obtain your transcript for this course internally.
