BECS Seminars

The Biblical and Early Christian Studies program hosts a fortnightly research seminar series which showcases outstanding work in the field and nurtures scholarly conversation with participants from Australia and around the world. Speakers pre-circulate papers on a wide range of topics ranging from the social scientific study of the New Testament to Late Antique philosophy, which is then discussed during the hour-long online meeting.

Seminars showcase outstanding work from around Australia and the world on a wide range topics, such as conspiracy theory, political choice-making, imagination in art, disaster, plague, time, and moral invective, from early medieval Ireland through Renaissance, Reformation, and Enlightenment to the present.

Religion and Theology Seminars

The Religion and Theology program hosts a series of seminars that engage the work in progress of distinguished scholars. Talks examine ancient, medieval, and modern materials for their contemporary theological and ethical significance. Topics range from Dante's theology, Kant's relationship to God, and whether there would be disability in a life after death.
