Peter Faber Business School community engagement

This program will provide you with a deeper understanding of the contributions of social enterprises to society. You’ll engage directly with those experiencing disadvantage and marginalisation, not just by helping them in the short term, but by building relationships and developing long-term solutions to complex problems

Engaging in your future

The school’s community engagement program aims to help you develop four key skills: critical reflection; active learning; involvement in serving the community; and practical experience working with not-for-profit organisations, then reflecting on the experience.

You will develop important foundational professional skills, knowledge of social enterprise models, learn about the role of social entrepreneurs in creating social change, and deepen your understanding of the world around you.

"Being around children has always been fun for me, and I have always wanted to volunteer to help them. The community engagement volunteer placement as part of my degree was the push I needed in the right direction to get me started. I think it’s great that this is incorporated into my degree because it opens our eyes to another aspect of life as well as broadening my skills when joining the workforce. Volunteering is a fantastic way to make you appreciate what you have and be more generous with helping others."
