Read our strategic prioritiesAustralian Centre for the Advancement of Literacy's mission is the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge on how people learn to read and write, how they use reading and writing to learn and express ideas, and how the others in their lives can best support those processes.
Our current national and international research projects focus on understanding literacy learning, what constitutes effective instruction, and how to assess learning reliably and accurately.

We are developing professional learning opportunities for practicing teachers. The first short professional learning courses will be available later this year and the first certificate units will be offered in Session 1 in 2024. We're also offering opportunities to complete a master's or PhD with us.
