What you can expect

This study tour is comprise of a mix of seminars held at the ACU Rome Centre, excursions and sightseeing. 

Study tour highlights

  • Mass in St Peter’s Basilica and a Papal Audience in St Peter’s Square.
  • A day trip to Subiaco in the hills behind Rome, the birthplace of the Benedictine spiritual tradition in the sixth century.
  • Two nights in Assisi, the beautiful hillside town which was home to St Francis and St Clare in the thirteenth century.
  • An opportunity to visit the sixteenth-century rooms of Saint Ignatius of Loyola next to the Church of the Gesù, the mother church of the Jesuits in Rome.
  • An introduction to the Community of Sant’ Egidio which was founded in Rome by high school students in 1968 and is now a network of communities in 70 countries around the world with an emphasis on prayer, friendship with the poor and work for peace.
