Recognition of Prior Learning

If you have already studied at university level or have significant relevant work experience, you can apply for credit / recognition of prior learningcredit / recognition of prior learning towards your ACU course.

The schedule of unit offerings is available via the course handbook page for Diploma in Exercise Science.

Please note that study modes and unit availability are subject to change and not all units are on offer at all times. Units might be offered in different modes (attendance, multi-mode or online). If you are unsure which mode is the most suitable for you, please contact your course coordinator prior to enrolling.

Minimum enrolment numbers apply to all units. The University reserves the right to cancel units with low enrolment numbers. Students will be advised of cancellations prior to the start of semester and offered an alternative unit if one is available. You must enrol for the whole academic year if you commence in Semester 1 or if you are re-enrolling. You can change your enrolment up until the census date for each semester or professional term. See the Academic CalendarAcademic Calendar for key dates.

The Diploma is a one year (full-time) course that mirrors the learning found in the first year of the Bachelor of Exercise Science with the addition of a transition unit to help build study skills and equip you with industry relevant knowledge.

You will graduate with a formal standalone qualification on successful completion of the specified 8 units plus gain credit for first year entry to to a range of exercise science degrees and potentially other discipline bachelor degrees, allowing you to transition straight into second year with credit.

We are here to support you from start to finish. We ensure smaller class sizes, offer tailored support as you transition to university study, and provide a range of student services to help you succeed. This approach is aimed at allowing a wider range of students to have a positive and successful transition to university study as well as facilitating our students to create a more immediate and broad impact in the fields of exercise and sport.
