If you’re due a scholarship payment, sit tight. Payments normally occur within four to six weeks of the semester census date. Make sure you have everything up-to-date to get paid as soon as possible.
Payment timelines and eligibility
The following scholarships are normally paid within four to six weeks of the semester census date:
- Commonwealth scholarships
- ACU Institution Equity scholarships
- Ongoing ACU scholarships
This timeline is subject to the outcome of your eligibility check as per the rules of the individual scholarship.
Your ongoing eligibility
It’s important to be aware of your ongoing eligibility requirements for your scholarship. If you experience any exceptional circumstances that may impact your ongoing eligibility to keep receiving your scholarship, you need to complete a Consideration of Special Circumstances for Ongoing Scholarships request form.
How to get paid on time
- Check your ACU student email account regularly to ensure you receive important updates relating to your scholarship payment.
- Make sure your bank details are up to date in Student Connect (go to My Fees, Banking Details), missing or incorrect details will delay your payment.
Scholarship progress reporting
Your scholarship might require you to include regular reporting — such as an impact statement or an annual progress report. These reports must be submitted to the scholarships office by the due date.
You can upload and submit your impact statements and written progress reports here.
Tax and income implications
Some scholarship payments may be classed as income and have an impact on your tax liability or your eligibility for government support through Centrelink.
It’s your responsibility as a scholarship recipient to check if you are impacted by this.
You can find out if your scholarship is taxable or not by using the Australian Tax Office’s online tool.
