New friends. Exciting experiences. Memorable moments. University should have them all. And living in student accommodation is one of the best ways to get the most out of your university experience.
Student accommodation is more than a place to eat and sleep. We deliver a residential experience for all students that is inclusive, enlightening and supportive. Our Residential Life Program is a tailored event program that provides students with unique opportunities for social connections, leadership and life skills. Not only you’ll meet friends who support your passions, you will discover who you want to become in today’s global environment, whilst making a difference to your local community.
Our residential advisors (RAs) represent our diverse community of residents in student accommodations. RAs are chosen for their leadership skills, community participation and demonstrated commitment to improving student life.
We recruit RAs in October for the following year, although occasionally we recruit them at other times throughout the year. To be an eligible candidate, students must be residing at an ACU property for a minimum of one semester. Regional, international and exchange students are encouraged to apply.

Through the Residential Life Program, residents will experience academic success and personal development, integrating academic and co-curricular experiences into their campus life. The framework is focussed on five key attribute areas – academic, social, cultural & community, health & wellbeing, and spiritual. The ACU Graduate Attributes are attained by residential students who engage with the Residential Life Program. These attributes provide residents with skills and knowledge that they can utilise both during their studies, and in their post-University journey.
Our Residential Life Program engages students from a range of backgrounds, with equally diverse aspirations and support needs. So no matter your experience or interests, you won’t be left out.
Getting involved is the best way to make friends and have a great time. We offer a comprehensive program of events to enhance your experience, including Pilates, self-defence classes, pizza parties, academic skills sessions, day trips, movie nights, cultural evenings, sporting and career training workshops and many more.
Of course we’d love you to participate as much as you can, but there is no pressure or obligation. You can get involved in as much, or as little, as you’d like.
"MCR has been a great home away from home for my first semester at university. The community at MCR is like a family, and I have met wonderful people and made great friends here. It has been wonderful having an awesome support network around me as I find my way through my first semester.”
