Stipend scholarships

Stipend scholarships provide financial assistance for general living costs to candidates undertaking a Research Doctorate or Research Masters degree.

Stipend scholarships are competitive and awarded following a merit-based selection process. Candidates with strong academic credentials and research potential are encouraged to apply.

Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship

The Australian Government offers Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarships to support both domestic and international candidates undertaking a Research Doctorate or Research Masters degree.

The successful applicant will be awarded:

  • An ACU PhD Stipend Scholarship of $32,192 per annum (indexed annually); and
  • An ACU Tuition Fee Scholarship valued at c. $30,000 per annum; and
  • A single Overseas Student Health Care Policy and a Relocation Allowance (up to $2,000) for international candidates.

Twice per annum:

  • Sunday 21 April 2024
  • Sunday 20 October 2024

Australian Catholic University (ACU) is offering one full-time PhD scholarship to undertake research into the role of talk in relation to mathematical thinking in small group work with early years (Grades 1 and 2) students.

Tuition fee scholarships

Tuition fee scholarships cover the cost of your course fees.

Domestic candidates

All domestic candidates approved for enrolment in a Research Doctorate or Research Masters degree at ACU will receive an Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Fees Offset Scholarship. This scholarship covers the cost of your course for the minimum duration and is valued at c. $30,000 per annum.

International candidates

International candidates may apply for an ACU Tuition Fee Scholarship valued at c. $30,000 per annum.

RTP allowance scholarships

RTP allowance scholarships are available to all candidates currently enrolled in a Research Doctorate or Research Masters degree at ACU, to assist with the ancillary costs incurred in undertaking your candidature. The RTP allowance scholarship has two forms:

RTP Allowance (Overseas Student Health Care Policy)

The RTP Allowance (Overseas Student Health Care Policy) will cover the cost of one Overseas Student Health Care Policy for international candidates.

RTP Allowance (Relocation)

The RTP Allowance (Relocation) is a contribution to the costs of an overseas candidate's relocation to Australia for the purposes of commencing a Research Doctorate or Research Masters degree at ACU. To apply for the RTP Allowance (Relocation), complete the Application Form (Docx) and return via email to res.finance@acu.edu.au.
