Students studying International Development Studies at ACU are prepared for careers, domestically and abroad, in a diverse range of government and non-government organisations tasked with supporting the alleviation of poverty in the developing world. International development studies focus on contemporary understandings of the causes and consequences of poverty, conflict, refugees and migration, and develops work-ready skills in project management, research and policy development.

Completion requirements
A student must complete 80 cp of the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
a. 20 cp from 100-level units (Part A)
b. 30 cp from 200-level units (Part B)
c. 30 cp from 300-level units (Part C)
For Bachelor of Arts students: The International Development Studies major is available only to students who transfer into the Bachelor of Arts from the Bachelor of international Development Studies and who have completed units to 300-level as approved by the Course Coordinator.
