There are several scholarships and grants available to you as a student veteran. These scholarships can assist you from your first year through to opportunities to study abroad.
The Student Veteran Commencing Student Technology and Book Grant may be available to support your transition to higher education. The grant recognises the financial challenges faced by new students and aims to reduce the financial burden of purchasing technology and textbooks.
This grant is valued at $500. Applications open post census and recipients are informed in week eight of the semester. All applications are assessed based on the following eligibility criteria and a personal statement:

If you are the child or grandchild of an ex-serving veteran you may be eligible for a scholarship of $4,000 to $6,000 per year for three years, funded by ex-service organisations and private sponsors. A bursary also exists for children and grandchildren of Vietnam veterans known as the Long Tan Bursary.
These are means tested scholarships with eligibility criteria including, Australian citizenship status, parent or grandparent’s operational service, your enrolment plans and study load.

This scholarship provides up to US$40,000 to military veterans honourably discharged post 9/11 who are undertaking or interested in enrolling in undergraduate or postgraduate study. The scholarship provides financial assistance for one Australian every year to study in America for six to 12 months, and for one American to study in Australia.
Australia to USA applications open 1 January and close 31 March each year.
Current Australian Defence Force members (SERCAT 7) may be eligible for Defence Assisted Study Scheme (DASS) funding to study ACU’s Diploma in Criminology and Diploma in Business.
