Congratulations to Emeritus Professor Patrick Duignan who was awarded the 2021 Paul Brock Award for a significant contribution to education at the NSW Australian Council for Education Leaders (ACEL) conference recently.
The NSW ACEL Dr Paul Brock Memorial Medal is awarded annually to a prominent educational leader who has significantly impacted educational direction and achievement. Recipients are chosen for their demonstrated values of social justice in making a substantial contribution to evidence informed policy, practice and research.
Professor Patrick Duignan commenced with ACU in 1995 as the Foundation Chair in Educational Leadership. He later became the Head of School of Educational Leadership until 2008. Under his leadership, the National School had an average of 150 Master of Educational Leadership students and 30 doctoral students. Concomitantly he was also Director of the Research Flagship for Creative and Authentic Leadership, which attracted research grants and consultancies of over $4.5 million during his professorship. Professor Duignan was awarded the title of Emeritus Professor at ACU on 1 January 2008.
