The Multimodal Special Interest Group at the National Institute of Education in Singapore has run Professional Learning presented by ILSTE’s Professor Len Unsworth, for those interested in specialized forms of multimodal reading and writing in school science. Characteristics about the use of infographics in high school science settings was discussed and linguistic complexity confronting students was explored. Research findings from the Australian Research Council project undertaken by Professor Unsworth on the combining of images and text in infographics was shared. A new article is forthcoming.
