ShareIn the world of social media, fake news and information bubbles, misinformation abounds.
In a time of pandemic, the danger of misinformation increases. As vaccines are deployed and countries try to return to something like “normalcy,” how should we understand the challenges of providing society with the right information? How does the growth of political populism contribute to the difficulty of disseminating accurate information? What can be done to rescue the fact?
To address this issue, the Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities (SACRU) is holding a webinar entitled “Populism and Truth in the Media: Solutions during COVID-19”.
ACU populism expert Dr Benjamin Moffitt, Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations, will examine the issue with Professor Simona Beretta, Professor of International Economics at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan and Professor William Hasselberger, Philosopher and Professor of Politics at the Institute for Political Studies of Catholic University of Portugal.
The webinar will be held at 08:30 on 26 March (AEST). Register here.
We're available 9am–5pm AEDT,
