Australian Writing Survey: Building an evidence base on the teaching of writing

The Institute for Learning Sciences and Teacher Education (ILSTE) has released a Research Brief on the teaching of writing. It draws on responses to the Australian Writing Survey(c) (AWS) provided by teachers in Queensland schools.

It presents new data on how well prepared are teachers to teach writing and other aspects of literacy education including reading and language conventions. Find the Research Brief here from the researchers, Professor Claire Wyatt-Smith and Christine Jackson.
