Connecting Gospels: Beyond the Canonical / Non-Canonical Guide
IRCI Researcher Sarah Parkhouse and Professorial Fellow Francis Watson publish a new edited collection titled ‘Connecting Gospels: Beyond the Canonical/Non-Canonical Divide’. The book aims to connect gospel literature that has been divided by the canonical boundary, comparing and contrasting themes and topics in gospels found within the New Testament and gospels that are not.
Each contribution starts with the assumption that all early Christian gospels share a common belief in the absolute significance of Jesus, and from this point the similarities and differences between gospels are examined. The book was published in March 2018 by Oxford University Press. The chapters include Watson on the Epistula Apostolorum, Parkhouse on the Gospel of Mary and IRCI researcher Matthew Crawford on the Diatessaron.
