I didn't get an offer - what now?
Not getting a university offer is incredibly disappointing but don’t panic – there are options. Here are just a few of them:
More Round Offers
There are a number of offer rounds, so you may still get an offer even if you miss out initially. Check the cut-off score for the first round – if you are very close, it’s possible that you’ll be offered a place in the second round, although this is not guaranteed. You can also change your preferences by adding or removing courses from your list. Spots do open up in later rounds, usually when other students reject or defer their offers or because extra places have been made available.
Supplementary Offers
If you don’t receive the first or second round offer you’re after, make sure you have given permission to receive supplementary offers. Universities offer supplementary offers after rounds 1 and 2 if there are still open spots for new students. You can see and change your permission to receive supplementary offers via the appropriate TAC website.
Alternate pathways
A first-round offer is just a direct entry into a university degree, however if you have your mind set on a particular course at a specific uni, don’t lose all hope. All courses offer pathway options as long as you meet the criteria outlined to get into that course. Didn’t get into the physio course you wanted? Try studying exercise science, crushing it, and then changing to physio further down the line.
ACU has a many, many exciting alternative entry schemes, programs, and pathways.
Bridging Courses
Associate degrees, diplomas, certificates and a range of vocational courses ranging from six months to two years can give you direct entry to your chosen bachelor course.
ACU has a number of formal partnership agreements with TAFE and other private VET providers which include guaranteed entry into an ACU degree and/or credit for your previous studies.

Gap Year
You have just finished year 12, it was challenging and maybe you need a break. Work, travel, volunteer and take time to think about what you really want. A gap year is a great chance to gain skills and experience to get into a course and gives you the opportunity to make some money before returning to study.
