What is change of preference?

Change of preference period is the last chance for you to change your list of course preferences. Once you have your ATAR/OP result, it’s a time to be realistic about your course preferences and consider your pathway options.

What if I didn’t get the result required for my chosen degree?

Don’t panic. Consider your pathway options, do some research and change your list of preferences to include courses that may have a lower requirement. Make sure you attend an information session at your closest campus for further information.

What if I don’t get an offer?

Contact ACU directly to learn more about direct entry options, midyear intakes and alternative pathways to university.

Does ACU organise professional placements?

Many courses require students to complete professional placements as part of their studies. Some courses have specific requirements to ensure students meet professional registration obligations. Other courses offer students the flexibility to tailor their work placements to suit their learning needs. ACU has multiple Placement Coordinators to assist students in finding the right placement. We organise the majority of placements for our students.

What services are available to assist me in my first year of university?

ACU provides an extensive range of support services to all students throughout your degree. ACU responds to individual needs, providing quality support services and programs to students, helping them to develop to their full potential, and providing assistance or guidance as required.

How long are most courses? Can I study part-time and are any units offered online?

Most undergraduate courses are three to four years full-time (longer, if studied part-time), while postgraduate courses range from six months to two years full-time. Many of our courses allow you to vary your study load for each study period. Unit offerings change annually, though most are offered face-to-face unless you are enrolled in an online course.
