Reverend Anthony Casamento CSMA
Fr Anthony Casamento CSMA has been Vice President of ACU since August 2017. Prior to this appointment, Fr Anthony was Director, Identity and Mission at ACU from 2011, having commenced as Chaplain to the North Sydney (MacKillop) Campus in 2010
About Fr Anthony
Fr Anthony is a member of the Congregation of St Michael the Archangel (Michaelite Fathers), which is part of the wider Salesian family. He took final vows in 2009 and was ordained to the priesthood in 2010.
Fr Anthony’s priestly formation was undertaken at the Seminary of the Good Shepherd (Sydney) and the Michaelite houses of formation in Sydney and Rome. He undertook his initial theological studies at the Catholic Institute of Sydney (CIS).
He holds a number of undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology, history and theology. His academic area of interest is The Shoah (Holocaust).
Other appointments
Fr Anthony serves as the Regional Superior for the Michaelites in Australia and is a Chaplain to the NSW Police Force.
Fr Anthony also serves as a member of the Comitato Scientifico (scientific committee) for Educatio Catholica, the official journal of the Holy See’s Congregation for Catholic Education.
He also sits on multiple boards, including:
- the Advisory Board of the Institute for Administrators in Catholic Higher Education (IACHE) at Boston College, USA
- Marist Schools Australia Regional Council
