Dietetic practice is the application of the science of food and nutrition across a range of domains to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals, communities, and populations.
In the Master of Dietetics you will undertake a combination of theoretical study and practice placement across areas including food and nutrition counselling with individuals, food and nutrition education and capacity building with groups, public health nutrition, food production and provision to individuals, communities and populations, entrepreneurial dietetic practice and management, and research. To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed a Bachelor degree in Nutrition (or equivalent).
The Graduate Certificate in Culinary Nutrition Science is designed for practitioners and graduates across the nutrition, dietetics, health, education and the culinary arts industries. Continuing professional development is compulsory for practising nutritionists and dietitians and other professionals. The combination of two core culinary nutrition science units and two electives allows students to tailor the course to meet their interests and professional needs. Students will progress their learning initially through theoretical and then practical experiences, with these components delivered in theory and practical blocks in the core units. Students can choose to study the culinary nutrition science units complete, or in theory and practical microcredentials.
