Piece together the past from present discoveries

Sunset at Lachish digsite during ACU archaeology visit.

Focusing on Ancient Israel in its Near Eastern context, ACU’s archaeology major/minor allows you to touch history. You’ll have practical opportunities at every stage, from joining a working archaeological excavation in Israel and recording and analysing the artefacts you uncover, to using your discoveries and the evidence they provide to tell the story of the area’s history.

You can also study in Rome and make connections between that city’s ancient history and the history of Ancient Israel.

Learn from a multidisciplinary team with expertise in archaeological theory and practice, history, language and science.

Graduate with the knowledge and skills to work on a dig, at museums and galleries, in cultural management, or in teaching or research.
