Overview

Australia's high-quality immunisation system is internationally recognised. Highly trained immunisers play a key role in reducing vaccine preventable diseases and keeping our communities safe and healthy.

This program is open to AHPRA-registered health professionals to gain the complex theoretical and clinical skills required to work in this growing sector.

This fully-online course is based on the National Immunisation Education Framework for Health Professionals and has been accredited by Health Education Services Australia (HESA).

The program is open to Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Registered Midwives, Paramedics, Pharmacists and Aboriginal Health Practitioners/Workers.

Graduates will be able to safely administer vaccinations and to develop their knowledge around immunisation and associated vaccination processes.

This program enables most graduates (excluding Enrolled Nurses) to work independently* as an immunisation provider within their scope of practice.

NIEPHP is equivalent to 150 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) learning.

*Subject to state/territory and jurisdiction legislation. Students should refer to the Department of Health in their jurisdiction for information about independent authorisation.
